Lenovo ThinkPad laptops T, X, L, W series grab Ivy Bridge
It’s time for the 3rd Generation Intel Core update to Lenovo’s line of ThinkPad laptops including their T, X, L, and W series, these including software updates as well. What we’re dealing with here in this update is a series of upgrades for each of the unique series with one common strain between the lot of them: Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors bumping them all up to ultra powerful. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook revealed
The next level powerhouse in workhorse Ultrabook has been revealed by Lenovo as being the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, complete with the claim that it is indeed “the world’s lightest 14-inch professional Ultrabook.” This Ultrabook “exceeds Ultrabook specifications” as Lenovo says with its premium Carbon Fiber roll cage enclosure and full package weighing in at 3 pounds. This notebook has a 14-inch display which works with Vibrant Hi-Resolution technology, it being 1600 x 900 pixel resolution with a thin bezel and 300 nit brightness. The keyboard is Lenovo’s latest setup with backlighting as well, so get prepped for a premium experience.

Like the rest of the Lenovo notebooks revealed today, this one comes with 3rd Generation Intel Core options, Dolby Home Theater v4 for audio, and ThinkPad Enhanced Experience 3.0 software to keep you strong in the innards. You’ve got the ability to connect this notebook with Mobile Broadband 3G, vPro technology keeps you up to date on the latest enterprise manageability options, and you’ve got Rapid Charge as an option, this being the ability to charge your computer up to 80% in an amazing 30 minutes.

Samsung Series 7 Chronos 17-inch packs Ivy Bridge and 8hr battery
Samsung has outed a new, larger version of its Series 7 Chronos notebook, throwing Ivy Bridge into the mixture but still keeping the price down under $ 1.5k. The new 17-inch Series 7 Chronos is an inch thick in its brushed aluminum casing, and weighs around 6.56 pounds; it comes with a choice of Core i7 processors, paired with a matte-finish, Samsung SuperBright 1920 x 1080, 300-nit brightness screen.

There’s also up to 8GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, along with a JBL-sourced triple speaker setup with subwoofer. Graphics are courtesy of NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 650M with 2GB of its own memory, and there’s a 1.3-megapixel webcam and WiFi a/b/g/n.

HP EliteBook Folio revealed and set for October
HP’s solution to the enterprise need for the Ultrabook has arrived, and it goes by the name HP EliteBook Folio. This notebook works with a 14-inch display, weighs in at 3.5 pounds for starters, and is just 0.75-inchest thin. This notebook has enterprise-level docking abilities and has so many ports around its edges that you’ll not believe your eyes.

The ports you get with this machine include a Display Port, three USB 3.0 ports, RJ-45 Ethernet, VGA, and more. What we’ve seen thus far shows us that this notebook will be a fabulous any-user machine that’ll be well placed in businesses across the USA for both general and high-powered use. It comes with several battery options for all types of uses to extend your computing life far beyond that of your average PC. This EliteBook Folio comes with a standard 4-cell battery inside and had a 6-cell slice battery option to add-on as well.
